With an iPhone or a BlackBerry, you can have dozens of books in the palm of your hand.
There are several applications that allow you to do this.
For iPhone and iPod Touch, there's a Kindle app. The free app does the basics in that it lets you read books from Amazon.com. Other features include the ability to zoom in on text and jump from chapter to chapter. You can try books before you buy them, too, because Amazon gives you the first chapter free.
There are also the Stanza and eReader apps, both of which do more than the Kindle app, such as supporting open-source formats and books in the public domain.
If you have a BlackBerry, your choices are a little more straightforward. Go to www.ereader.com/bb and download the e-reader software.
